A peculiar incident occurred in South Yorkshire, United Kingdom, during the World Snooker Championships. A man bit the ear of a young boy.

Varied unusual occurrences are common at sports events. In Poland, we’ve grown quite accustomed to scandals during football matches, including fights, vandalism, and city blockades, almost as if they were the norm. However, an even more unsettling event happened in Sheffield, United Kingdom, at the World Snooker Championships, a popular variant of billboards.

The incident occurred during a speech by the seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry. A scene unfolded just above his left shoulder, pulling attention away from Hendry. A man in the audience whispered something into the ear of a young boy accompanying him, then started to nibble on it with his teeth.

The relationship between the two is not known. The audience was simultaneously shocked and appalled, prompting a police search for the man. The incident clip quickly went viral, amassing over 12 million views.

The entire incident was broadcast live on TV

The "Daily Mail" reported that the boy, noticing he was on camera, appeared unfazed, smiling and waving to the viewers. Nevertheless, the authorities were alerted.

"On Thursday, April 25, at 20:20 GMT, we received a call with information about a video circulating on social media showing a man and a boy at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. We are looking into the video, and officers will review its content," the South Yorkshire Police informed "Daily Sport".

The widespread video has horrified internet users, with many urging the police to find and apprehend the man shown and voicing concern for the boy’s welfare. Comments like "I just vomited", "This is very disturbing", and "Poor child. Find this man" flood the conversation.
