Shakira's Copa America concert to extend final halftime break

During the night from Sunday to Monday (14/15 July), the Copa America 2024 final will take place, where the Argentine team will face Colombia. Quite unusually, the break in the match will last longer than usual due to... a Shakira concert.

At the same time, we are watching significant competitions on two different continents. In Europe, Euro 2024 is scheduled from 1-14 July, while across the ocean, the Copa America started on 21 June. The final will take place during the night from Sunday to Monday (14/15 July).

We already know the complete list of Copa America finalists. After Argentina defeated Canada 2-0 and qualified, Colombia joined them. This team beat Uruguay 1-0 and will have a chance to defeat the defending champions.

We know the decisive match will last longer than any other game. The reason? During the match break, a Shakira concert is planned. This means the players will have a chance for a more extended rest between the first and second halves of the match. This intermission will increase from 15 to 25 minutes.

Although the Colombian team coach has no issue with the planned singer's concert, he is unhappy with the rule change. He emphasized this during the pre-match press conference.

The Argentina-Colombia match will start at 7:00 AM Greenwich Time during the night from Sunday to Monday (14/15 July).
