Seagull menace outside Greggs bakery leaves customers defenceless
A seagull is terrorising customers at Greggs bakery in Bournemouth. The bird lurks for people leaving the bakery, and it springs into action when it sees food in their hands. No one can feel safe.
Greggs bakery in Bournemouth is quite popular with customers, who eagerly come to buy something to eat. Those leaving with a snack in hand need to be on guard, as a terrorising seagull is roaming the area.
A man who left Greggs with a slice of pizza discovered what a hungry seagull can do. Spotting him, the seagull immediately launched into action. It dove towards the tasty morsel, and though this time it didn’t manage to “hunt” anything, the attacked man will surely remember it for a long time.
As it turns out, he was neither the first nor likely the last victim of the gluttonous seagull. One of "The Sun" interviewees confirms that the bird is "sneaky and seems to know exactly what it’s doing".
People have to walk past the phone box as they leave Greggs and they usually start eating sausage rolls or steak bakes straightaway. This gull then swoops in to try and take whatever is in their hand — describes Greg's action.
He added that he saw the seagull snatch a slice of pizza from a man, who stared incredulously at the empty wrapper, the only thing left from his purchased snack.
Local authorities ask not to feed the seagulls
Seagulls are omnivores, eating everything that fits into their beaks. They do not disdain either plant or meat-based foods. Their diet includes eggs, seeds, fruits, carrion, fish, insects, smaller birds, and shellfish. Greg added chips and pizza to his menu as well.
The council of Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole has called on visitors to not feed Greg or other seagulls that appear in the coastal area.
In a coastal area, this is a part of life and we encourage visitors to not feed the seagulls and avoid carrying food near spots where there is a high concentration — say local authorities' representatives.
