Seagal given star on Azerbaijan walk of fame amid controversy
The famous Hollywood Walk of Fame currently has over 2,600 stars with the names of noted figures. However, you won't find Steven Seagal's name engraved there. The former action movie hero can, nevertheless, boast a star on the Walk of Fame in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

No Hollywood star has yet received such an honour. Furthermore, Steven Seagal has become only the sixth person in the world to have their name on the Sea Breeze Walk of Fame, located in the capital of Azerbaijan. It's worth noting that this is not Seagal's first visit to Baku. A few months ago, he gave a guitar concert there and also participated in several projects by Emin Agalarov, a leading Azerbaijani artist who oversees the Walk of Fame in his country.
It turns out that Seagal has been friends with the folk artist for years. "I am grateful for the creativity Emin brings into my life, and for his friendship and support. It is a great joy for me to revisit beautiful Baku and take part in the ceremony of placing my star," Seagal said.
"We are honoured to place Steven Seagal's star here. He is a true legend of cinema and an amazing musician. Everyone loves him in Azerbaijan. I am honoured to be his friend," Emin Agalarov reciprocated.
Steven Seagal has become the sixth person to have their name on the Sea Breeze Walk of Fame. Before him, this honour was bestowed upon Muslim Magomayev, Tamara Sinyavskaya, Nani Bregvadze, Engelbert Humperdinck, and Alessandro Safina. It is worth noting that Seagal remains a star on Polish television. In the coming days, movies featuring Putin's protégé will be shown on Polsat, Super Polsat, TV Puls, and TVN.
In photos that have appeared in Azerbaijani media, the former action movie hero, dressed in his traditional black outfit, is seen marching down the red carpet and greeting young people. Unfortunately, his current activities are not limited to such innocent ceremonies. Two weeks ago, Seagal received the Order of Friendship from Vladimir Putin. Later, in a propaganda speech, he claimed that Ukraine is known, among other things, for child trafficking for sexual purposes and for Nazism and fascism.
