Scent hacks: Simple DIY tricks to banish wardrobe odours
It often happens that despite having clean and freshly laundered clothes, we notice an unpleasant smell in the wardrobe. There can be various reasons for this: a dirty washing machine, clothes being packed too tightly, or placing back clothes that have already been worn. Here's how to eliminate that smell.

Toilet paper as a freshener
If you want your wardrobe to smell pleasant, there's no need to purchase expensive fragrances. A simple yet effective method is to use a roll of scented toilet paper. This product has moisture-absorbing properties, which can often be the source of bad odours. By placing the paper among your clothes, it will absorb unpleasant smells and leave behind a pleasant scent. Change the roll every two or three weeks, and the problem should disappear for good.
Ways to make your own natural freshener
To create your own scent, simply take a tea bag, preferably fruit or lavender, and add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to it. This little item can quickly absorb unpleasant odours from the wardrobe and works well in shoes too.
Another method involves using dried citrus fruits. Their strong and refreshing scent will help neutralise the interior. All you need are dried slices of lemons and oranges, which you can hang on hangers or place at the bottom of the wardrobe. For an enhanced effect, you can add cloves and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Since we're discussing essential oils, they can also be used in another way. Pour a few tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda into a small jar, add about 20 drops of essential oil, and mix well. The jar should be sealed with a lid that has been punctured with holes. It's advisable to shake it once a day to make the scent more noticeable. You can add oil every few days when the freshener loses its fragrance.
