Sabrina Carpenter announced the release of her new album "Short n' Sweet." While fans are thrilled, the promotional photograph for the album has sparked controversy. According to many, the former Disney Channel star has committed plagiarism. Is the evidence clear?

The boom for Sabrina Carpenter is in full swing. The star supported Taylor Swift's tour, unofficial sources claim she is dating Barry Keoghan, and each of her new songs becomes a hit. No wonder the singer decided to strike while the iron is hot and release another album. Even though the album is not yet available in stores, it has sparked immense interest, especially after the hit single "Espresso."

Did Sabrina Carpenter copy a model?

On the cover of the album "Short n' Sweet," Sabrina Carpenter poses against a blue background. Her shoulder blade is adorned with a red lipstick mark. The photograph fits the singer and the music she releases very well, but a keen eye has noticed potential plagiarism. The matter is serious.

The photo that Sabrina Carpenter (or someone responsible for her album cover) might have been inspired by comes from the Instagram of the French model Tiffany Collier. The photograph was published on 14 February 2018 for Valentine's Day and was previously used in 2015 in a session promoting SPF creams in "Cosmopolitan France" magazine. Tiffany and Sabrina's photos are almost identical, so it's hard to talk about coincidence or a similar vision of photographers.

Fans outraged by Sabrina Carpenter's photo

The internet is buzzing. Under Tiffany's post, one commenter wrote: "Sabrina Carpenter stole this photo for her album cover." Another user on X added: "In this situation, the accusation is justified. Sabrina didn't even change the background; she just copied everything as is. Oh, wait, the lipstick shade is different."

However, some voices defend Sabrina Carpenter. Some emphasize that the same photographer, Bruno Juminer, took both photos. Sabrina did not tag the photographer, so confirming this information is challenging. Fans of the artist added on X: "Retro summer aesthetics inspires her new era, and it's a reference to the time and era. Sabrina never claimed to be the original creator of this photo."
