Ryan Gosling's "I'm Just Ken" steals the show at the 2024 Oscars

At the 2024 Oscars ceremony, Ryan Gosling wowed the audience with his exciting, parodic live performance of "I'm Just Ken" from the original Barbie soundtrack. "I'm Just Ken" was one of two songs from Barbie that was nominated in the best original song category. Despite Gosling's efforts, the other song won the trophy.

When the audience heard the first notes of "I'm Just Ken," few knew where Gosling was. He wasn't on the stage. In a moment, we saw the star sitting in the audience behind Margot Robbie. Dressed in a shiny pink suit and pink gloves, he initially hid his face with a hat.

At the song's first words, his on-screen partner burst into laughter, spreading throughout the hall. Singing, Gosling slowly made his way towards the stage, where he joined guitarist Mark Ronson and an entire army of dancers.

Star of Guns N' Roses

Shortly after, another surprise awaited the Oscars' audience. Slash, guitarist of the legendary band Guns N’ Roses, appeared on stage. The audience at the Dolby Theatre then rose from their seats. Gosling and Slash playing a "solo" thrilled the crowd.

At one point, Gosling returned to the audience and handed the microphone to his collaborators from "Barbie", including director Greta Gerwig, who sang along with him. Ultimately, he grabbed a cameraman by the hand and pulled him onto the stage. The general fun and applause were only interrupted by a commercial break.
