According to information from the Ukrainian National Resistance Center (NRC), the "forbidden zone" will take effect on 1 August in the Kakhovka region and will cover the entire left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region at the beginning of September.

The specially designated area coincides with the territory that has been occupied by Russia for several months. "The order was published in the name of Vladimir Saldo, the local Russian puppet governor," writes the NRC.

The Russians have deported residents. Special permits are required

The organisation reported that according to the content of the published order, entry to this zone is possible only with a "special permit" from the Russians.

The National Resistance Center also notes that the Russians had previously deported the local population from most of the occupied settlements in the designated zone. The prohibited area is about 15 kilometres.

Ukrainian media admit that at this moment - based on information coming from the occupied regions - they are unable to assess why the Russians decided to take such a step.
