Russian rebels, who attacked the Belgorod and Kursk regions a few days ago, boasted of destroying the advanced electronic warfare system R-330Zh "Zhitiel". This equipment greatly complicates communication at the front and paralyzes the use of drones within its deployment area. And it costs as much as 200 million pounds.

A week has passed since the subunits of the Liberty of Russia Legion and the Siberian Battalion, Russian guerrilla formations, first crossed the border into the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

Then, the Liberty of Russia Legion reported that the village of Tiotkino in the Kursk region is under full control of Russian volunteers, with units of the regular Russian army quickly withdrawing from the area.

On Sunday, the Liberty of Russia Legion reported the capture of the village of Gorkovsky in the Belgorod region, located about 1.5 kilometres from the border with Ukraine.

Opponents of Vladimir Putin destroyed expensive equipment

That's not the end, for the Russians from the Liberty of Russia Legion have just boasted about destroying Russian EW equipment R-330Zh "Zhitiel" located near Krasnaya Yaruga. It is a very advanced and costly piece of Vladimir Putin's army's equipment.

It is an electronic warfare system from the R-330 family designed to jam ground and aerial communication and satellite navigation stations.

The R-330Zh "Zhitiel" system was introduced into service in the Russian army in 2008. Its tasks include detecting, tracking, analyzing, and jamming sources of radio emission. It costs at least 200 million pounds. That's going to hurt the Russians.

The system is reported to operate in the 100-2000 MHz range and is mounted on a Ural-43203 truck with telescopic antennas. Deploying the system takes about 40 minutes, and operational autonomy amounts to 1,600 hours, as an onboard generator powers all the electronics.

The system's range is about 25 kilometres for ground objects or up to 50 kilometres for flying objects. The R-330Zh "Zhitiel" can also precisely detect a signal emitter, which can then be used to direct artillery, something the Russians have already done several times.

Russian volunteers fighting on the side of Ukraine announced that their goal is to liberate the country from Vladimir Putin.
