Russian propaganda turns deadly: Mine accident during TV filming
The crew of Russian public television went to a training ground to shoot a propaganda piece about Russian technological advancements. During the presentation of anti-personnel mines, one of them exploded. The sapper and cameraman, who were filming, were seriously injured. The Russians accidentally produced quite an authentic piece, almost from the front line.
Russian propaganda regularly provides new sensational news about the war in Ukraine. Our Eastern neighbours are depicted as Nazis. The Russian army is not an aggressor - it is a liberator, first conducting a "special military operation," which turned into a war.
One of the Kremlin's most prominent propaganda mouthpieces is public television. On the Rossiya 1 channel, the biggest sensational news and lies about Europe and the war in Ukraine are repeated daily.
The program crew on this channel was invited to a military training ground in Shebekino (a town in the Belgorod region near the border with Ukraine). During a presentation on new weaponry, an accident occurred. At the moment of showing a Russian anti-personnel mine, an uncontrolled explosion occurred. The sapper and cameraman were seriously injured.
In the video available on platform X, the presentation of the Russian POW-3 mine can be seen. At a particular moment, the weapon exploded in the hands of the person holding it. As a result of the explosion, both the cameraman, who was filming, and the instructor or soldier holding the anti-personnel mine were injured.
A Rossiya 1 station employee described the situation. The footage was shot by the cameraman Yarislav Borisov. He was standing in front and, together with the sapper, took the brunt of the injuries related to the explosion. On the damaged neck, abdomen, arm, and leg. He was given assistance on-site.
It is not known how seriously both men were injured. In the video, one of the men can be seen profusely bleeding from the neck, chest, and abdomen. No one at the training ground was prepared for such an accident. The man is being "bandaged" using silver adhesive tape, or "duct tape".
