For the second night in a row, residents of the areas of Romania bordering Ukraine received warnings of potential danger. Russian forces carried out attacks using drones in the Ukrainian Danube Delta area.

Residents of northern Tulcea County, situated at the border with Ukraine, were informed via the RO-Alert system of the risk of falling debris from Russian drones shot down by Ukrainian air defence.

Messages conveyed by the RO-Alert system aim primarily to inform the public and to prevent potential threats, emphasised the Emergency Situations Inspectorate in Tulcea.

Residents were urged to remain calm, not panic, and follow the instructions. If they feel threatened or need support, they can contact the emergency number 112.

F-16 fighters scrambled

The same warnings were sent to the public the night before. At that time, alerts were also related to Russian military activities near the Romanian-Ukrainian border.

According to information from the Romanian Ministry of Defence, F-16 fighters from the Borcea Air Base were scrambled to monitor the air situation. A search around the village of Plauru was also ordered to find any potential objects.
