The expert noted that "In July, 2023 a road was cut to the location, and by the start of winter grading for the runway appeared mostly complete".
Construction resumed at the site on Saturday. Based on satellite images, the OSINT analyst estimated that the runway could be around 1.8 kilometres long.
The researcher's findings suggest that the Russian military uses Alexeyevka as a fuel storage and transportation centre. Additionally, the city also hosts an armoured vehicle repair facility.
It is important to note that since the outset of the brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine, a no-fly zone for civilian aircraft has been established in the region. Radio Liberty published the latest satellite images of the site on Telegram.
