Gas stoves, although widely used, can be quite a challenge when it comes to keeping them clean. The accumulation of grease and food residues is the main cause of burner dirt. This affects not only their appearance but also functionality. Blocked nozzles lead to more difficult burner ignition and can increase gas consumption, resulting in higher bills.

To avoid these problems, regular cleaning of the burners is recommended. Basic cleaning agents available in the kitchen may be sufficient to keep the burners in excellent condition. With a few simple tricks, you can avoid using harsh chemicals, which are not only costly but can also be harmful to your health.

How to clean stove burners?

Although not everyone knows it, the product that best removes burnt residue from burners is white vinegar. Simply spray each burner generously with vinegar, wait 15 minutes, and then wipe them down with a damp cloth.

If the dirt is extensive, the above method may not be sufficient. In that case, you need to disassemble the burners and place them in the sink. Then, pour water, add a few drops of washing-up liquid, and a cup of white vinegar. Mix everything so all the ingredients combine.

Soak the gas stove burners in the solution for an hour. After that, scrub each burner and leave them to dry. Finally, reinstall the burners.

Baking soda and lemon can help

One of the simplest ways to get rid of stubborn dirt on the burners is to use baking soda and lemon. Baking soda combined with hot water effectively dissolves grease and accumulated residues. Simply soak the burners in a baking soda solution for a few hours, so the dirt almost comes off by itself.

Lemon juice works similarly, as its citric acid content helps remove grease. After removing the burners from the solution, you can additionally wipe them with a cut lemon to remove any remaining dirt.
