"Numerous rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards central Israel, the first rocket barrage directed at the area in months," reports The Jerusalem Post.

The Israeli Defence Forces reported that a moment ago, a barrage of rockets was fired from Rafah towards central Israel.

They also added that humanitarian aid arrived in Gaza this morning through the Kerem Shalom crossing, and now rockets are being launched towards central Israel.

The rockets were launched from Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. A fragment of one of the rockets fell in the town of Herzliya near Tel Aviv.

An hour earlier, the IDF reported hearing sirens in Tel Aviv and other towns in central Israel.
