Robert Lewandowski's first La Liga goal of 2024 ignites hope for trailing FC Barcelona
The current season hasn't exactly met expectations for both FC Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski. Even though Lewandowski joined the Spanish team in the summer of 2022, they were triumphant in winning the championship and the Super Cup. Unfortunately, it looks as though the Pride of Catalonia may end the campaign without clinching any trophies.

Yet despite trailing behind in fourth place, 10 points behind the leading Real Madrid, Barcelona haven't given up on the Spanish La Liga. They commenced the 23rd-round match against Deportivo Alaves in a dominant position, with Lewandowski scoring the first goal in the 22nd minute.
“Lewy”, as he's affectionately called, executed an offensive move and received a pass from Ilkay Gundogan. He masterfully navigated around the local defenders and lifted the ball over goalkeeper Antonio Sivera.
The Deportivo Alaves vs FC Barcelona match was narrated on the Twitch platform by popular Spanish journalist Gerard Romero. A video capturing his enthusiastic reaction to that first goal is now available on portal X.
"Goal, goal, goal, RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRobert Lewandowskiii!" — this was how the journalist celebrated Lewandowski's goal for a full minute.
The goal marked a significant achievement for Lewandowski in the league. 2024 he has already racked up four goals, though they were only made during the Super Cup of Spain and the King's Cup. He hadn't managed to score in La Liga since the 10th of December of the previous year.
The second half of the 23rd round match in the Spanish La Liga is in progress. Shortly after half-time, Barcelona's lead was extended by Gundogan, though Samu Omorodion scored a retaliatory goal just two minutes later.
