The warfare in Ukraine is gaining momentum. The Russians are attacking eight sections of the front. The main objective is to take control of the Donetsk region and push Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk region.

According to the RBK-Ukraine portal, after capturing Kurakhove, Russian forces have moved towards Pokrovsk, a key supply point for Ukraine. Despite predictions from experts, the city remains under Ukrainian control.

However, the Russians are very close. Fighting is also ongoing in Toretsk, where Russian aggressors have seized most of the city.

In northeastern Ukraine, in the Kharkiv region, Russians are advancing towards the Oskoł River. With North Korean support, Russia has launched a new offensive in the Kursk region.

As the Ukrainian portal reminds us, the Ukrainian military has been able to stop the occupiers only in certain areas so far. Meanwhile, the enemy prepares for the main battle in the coming months.

According to RBK-Ukraine, the Russians are trying to create an operational encirclement of the city, which is an important supply hub for Ukrainian forces. Russian forces already control one of the roads from Pokrovsk to the more westerly Dnipropetrovsk region.

The timing of the battle for Pokrovsk depends on the endurance of Ukrainian forces in this section. Many experts predicted the city's loss before the end of September 2024, but Russian forces are still at least three kilometres from it.

However, the Russians still cannot liberate the Kursk region. Despite serious plans, the Russian army lacks soldiers. According to the portal, Ukraine is currently not in the best position to begin negotiations with Russia.
