Cancer is an extremely cunning adversary. Worldwide, cancer contributes to the death of about 10 million people annually, making it one of the leading causes of death. Unfortunately, the number of diagnosed cancer cases continues to rise. Cancer symptoms can vary depending on their type and location.

Sometimes they develop secretly over a long period without causing visible symptoms, which can lull us into a false sense of security. It is crucial that cancer is identified quickly because early detection increases the chances of recovery. What warning signs should alert us?

One of the key symptoms of cancer is rapid weight loss, which is not due to any change in diet or increased physical activity. The weight loss happens quickly and should not be ignored. Regular weighing should therefore be part of our daily routine. Unfortunately, many young women are pleased with unexpected weight loss, which can be misleading and dangerous.

Excessive fatigue is another symptom that may accompany patients, making daily life difficult. Additionally, there is weakness and noticeable mood decline. The presence of cancer in the body may also be indicated by apathy and depression. These symptoms are often associated with bothersome insomnia.

These symptoms will be noticed during body observation

Many cancers are accompanied by swollen lymph nodes. This is a symptom that is very noticeable. Lung cancer can manifest as haemoptysis, which is the presence of blood in saliva. This is accompanied by a persistent cough, changes in its character, a change in voice tone, hoarseness, and shortness of breath.

If you have problems with meals, be cautious. Cancers of the digestive system can cause stomach pain, a feeling of fullness after small meals, decreased appetite, swallowing difficulties, and morning nausea. Stomach pains are also a typical symptom of bowel cancer in both young and older people.

Symptoms in the form of bowel movement issues, changes in bowel habits, the presence of blood in stools, and pain during defecation may indicate cancer. Diarrhoea, constipation, haematuria, a feeling of incomplete bowel evacuation, bladder pressure, difficulties passing urine, and changes in urine colour may also appear. Observing stools is therefore highly recommended.

Do you get sick often? This could be a problem

A worrying signal may be frequent infections resulting from weakened immunity due to cancer and tumours appearing in various areas of the body. Skin changes in the mouth or on the genitals, changes in breast appearance, bleeding from the genitals during intercourse or accompanying pain, seizures, night sweats, and fevers without apparent reason are other possible symptoms of cancer. Troubling bone pain can also be a sign.

Each of the above-mentioned symptoms should be promptly consulted with a doctor. Appropriate prevention and quick diagnosis are key to defeating cancer.
