You'll certainly be surprised at what can go wrong with crisps, which seem straightforward to consume. Many people eat them mindlessly without really tasting what they eat. Pringles are among the more luxurious snacks available on the market, so it's worth knowing how to enjoy them properly. This way, you will taste these crisps from a completely different perspective.

You certainly didn't know this about Pringles!

The name Pringles might not seem as though it has an intriguing background, but the first recipe for these crisps was created in 1956. It was then that Alexander Liepa developed this unique taste. Still, he struggled to find investors, so the first batch of what we know today as Pringles did not appear until 1968 as "Newfangled Potato Crisps Pringle". According to crisp legend, the name of this snack comes from Mark Pringle, who revolutionized potato processing in 1937. However, others believe that Pringle Drive inspired the name in Ohio.

Furthermore, Pringles are considered cookies, not crisps, due to their composition. This is because the potato content does not exceed 42 per cent. This position was upheld by the Supreme Court in London in 2009, and according to local law, such a low content of these vegetables in crisps relegates them to the category of products made from dough. As a result, the owners of Pringles had to pay as much as £104 million in tax, as they had avoided paying a higher VAT rate for these crisp cookies for many years.

How to eat Pringles?

Based on an article published in "The Sun" regarding the correct way to eat Pringles, many people will be shocked. According to the company's employees, the crisps, or rather these distinctive cookies, are seasoned on only one side, and we usually eat them in a way that doesn't allow us to experience the flavour fully. If you always eat Pringles from the pack one by one and don't flip them, you're depriving yourself of the full experience and wasting money. If you reach for Pringles, flip each crisp before eating, and you'll immediately notice the difference.

On TikTok, there was a trend, "How to eat Pringles like a Duck mouth", which was a mocking tutorial on eating these crisps. Because of this, many users fell for it, yet they still ate Pringles incorrectly. According to TikTokers, the tongue is supposed to hit the indentation of the crisp, which does not mean, however, that you will taste the seasoning on it. It's better to skip this challenge while eating Pringles crisps.
