Nyjah Huston is a distinguished American skateboarder who has consistently triumphed in world skateboarding championships and other esteemed international contests. Until now, Huston had not previously secured an Olympic Games medal.

The celebrated skateboarder won a bronze medal at the competition in Paris. His joy at clinching third place was marred by the quality of the medallion he received. He showcased it on Instagram.

The medal that Nyjah Huston received on Monday (29/07) looks as if it has been stored in a closet for several years. The athlete is quite disheartened by the current state of his hard-earned trophy.

Alright, so these Olympic medals look great when they’re brand new. But after letting it sit on my skin with some sweat for a little bit and letting my friends wear it over the weekend, they’re apparently not as high quality as you’d think. It’s looking rough - the bronze medallist of the Olympic Games said candidly.

Internet users mock the Olympic medallion

The appearance of his medallion validates the American's grievances. It must be acknowledged that the scratched medal with a peeling coating indeed does not look impressive.

Commenters mock the American skateboarder's post, stating that his medallion looks "as if he won it in 1982 in Barcelona."

It should be noted that Nyjah Huston participated in the street skating competition, which Japan's Yuto Horigome won. Another representative of the United States, Jagger Eaton, claimed second place.
