Putin's claims refuted: False offensive in Ukraine uncovered
Putin announced that Russian troops crossed the border with Ukraine in the Kursk region and launched a large-scale offensive. "That's not true," denies Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Ukrainian government's Centre for Countering Disinformation (CPD).
"A Russian sabotage group DRG attempted to enter Ukrainian territory," Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Ukrainian government's Centre for Countering Disinformation (CPD), announced on social media. However, he notes that the enemy group was destroyed.
"Currently, there is no grouping of Russian forces on Ukrainian territory capable of launching a large-scale offensive," assures Kovalenko. He adds that attempts by enemy forces to cross occur frequently, but Ukrainian defence forces destroy them.
In this way, the head of the Ukrainian government's Centre for Countering Disinformation (CPD) responded to Vladimir Putin's propaganda claims on Wednesday, 19th February, announced that Russian troops crossed the border with Ukraine in the Kursk region on Tuesday evening and launched a large-scale offensive.
Ukrainians admit that in recent days, the enemy has conducted offensive actions in the Kursk region, but they were effectively repelled by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"One of the repelled attacks, around 6:00 AM GMT, was an attempt by a Russian unit to cross the state border of Ukraine towards Mykolayiv-Daryino - Zhuravka. The attempt failed. There is no reason to panic," informed Dmytro Lykhovyi, the spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
