On Monday, representatives of Russia's central and regional authorities discussed, among other things, the situation in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. The situation in the Kursk region is considerably more difficult. According to official information from Governor Alexey Smirnov, Ukraine has taken control of 28 localities.

Vladimir Putin said Kyiv, through its actions in the Kursk region, is trying to improve its negotiating position in the future.

He added that "the situation in the region shows why the Kiev regime rejected the peace proposals of Moscow and mediators."

In his usual style, Putin also accused Kyiv of following the will of its Western masters and highlighted that Kyiv's actions in the Kursk region have a military goal: to halt the offensive of Russian troops.

But at the same time, he argued that Russian troops "are advancing all along the contact line," stating that the pace of Russian gains throughout the past week had accelerated.

- One of the obvious goals of the enemy is to sow discord, strife, intimidate people, destroy the unity and cohesion of Russian society. The main task is, of course, for the defence ministry to dislodge the enemy from our territories - said Vladimir Putin.

Many of the information provided by Russian media or representatives of the authorities are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war waged by the Russian Federation.
