In this combination, everything simply plays harmoniously. Pita with honey halloumi and tzatziki sauce is perfect for breakfast, a snack, a delicious lunch or dinner, and at parties, everyone will be tempted by the honey-cheese bites.

What is halloumi?

Halloumi is an excellent alternative to regular cheese that will transform your menu. In Greece, it is most often served as a snack, grilled on a barbecue or in a pan. It has a slightly salty, delicate taste and a characteristic, fibrous texture, gently squeaking under the teeth. It is an excellent alternative to meat in burgers or kebabs. It has a firm texture and does not melt during baking, retaining its shape.

Halloumi can be combined with various additions. As befits a cheese, it is worth adding sweet notes to it. Combining the cheese's taste with honey, broken by the fresh tzatziki sauce, will make you love this snack from the first bite. If you are a fan of spiciness, you can add some crushed chilli flakes to the honey halloumi.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces of halloumi
  • Honey
  • 4 wheat pitas

Tzatziki sauce:

  • 9 oz of Greek yoghurt
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
