Ollie Watkins became the hero of the England national team by scoring the winning goal in the semi-final match against the Netherlands at Euro 2024 (2-1). Right after the game, Ellie Alderson, the striker's six-year-old partner, spoke out on social media.

On Wednesday, 10 July, we learned the second finalist of Euro 2024. After the Spanish national team defeated France 2-1 and secured a spot in the decisive match, England joined them.

The Three Lions faced the Dutch national team in the semi-final match. Although their rivals scored the first goal, they managed to turn the game around. Harry Kane responded to Xavi Simons' goal by converting a penalty kick. Meanwhile, in added time, England's advancement was sealed by the substitute, Ollie Watkins.

This made the Aston Villa striker the hero for the English. It was only his second match in this year's European Championship in which he participated. Earlier, in the group stage, he came off the bench during the game against the Danish national team.

Watkins scored one of the most important goals of his career in front of his girlfriend, Ellie Alderson. After the game ended, the 28-year-old appeared in the stands where his partner was seated, and there were affectionate moments. The woman responded to the Englishman's feat right after the match.

"You deserve this," she wrote after the game.
"This picture might be my favourite ever," her words to the photo, in which we can see Watkins' joy after scoring the goal.
