North Korean troops to join Moscow's Victory Day parade
The North Korean army will participate in the May parade in Moscow on the occasion of Victory Day, reports the Japanese broadcaster NHK.
North Korean soldiers will march through Red Square in Moscow during the parade on 9 May. According to NHK, alongside Russian troops, soldiers from North Korea will also appear. Talks are also underway about the participation of a North Korean military band.
The portal Ukrainska Pravda informs that this is the first time Pyongyang will send its troops to Moscow for the Victory Day celebrations, commemorating Russia's victory over the Third Reich. The participation of North Korean troops has already been confirmed by NHK sources.
The Russian Minister of Defence, Andrei Belousov, announced that military units from 19 allied countries have been invited to the parade. Ten of them have already confirmed their participation, although it has not been disclosed which countries these are.
