During a meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Sharen Haskel, presented the proposal to the Ukrainian Ambassador, Yevhen Korniychuk, to transfer Russian weapons captured by the Israel Defence Forces in Lebanon.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Tel Aviv confirmed this information, noting that this initiative is an important step in recognising the shared threats facing both countries.

Korniychuk expressed gratitude for this proposal, emphasising that effective counteraction to threats from Iran and Russia is in the mutual interest of Ukraine and Israel. In his view, military cooperation between these countries is crucial in the face of the growing threat from Iran, which supports the terrorist group Hezbollah.

The Israel Defence Forces have conducted operations in Lebanon in recent months against the Iran-supported Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah.

Weapons for Ukraine

The US has decided to provide Ukraine with hundreds of missiles for the Patriot and NASAMS systems. Italy also plans to transfer a second SAMP/T system battery to Ukraine in response to Ukraine's air defence problems.

This system, more mobile and easier to operate than the Patriot, can significantly strengthen Ukrainian defence. Italy and France have already supplied Ukraine with the first battery of this system.

Israel, possessing 32 Patriot launchers, is considering transferring them to another country that could support Ukraine. Although there is no confirmation of such a transaction, it is a possible solution.
