Wafer rolls, a bit of milk, sugar, and cream – all you need to create a wonderful no-bake cake that your family will adore. This type of cake is prevalent in the summer when outdoor temperatures dangerously hover around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. The fact that an oven isn't required and the cake is assembled with the help of a refrigerator is especially appealing during this time.

What else? Virtually nothing. The no-bake cake we will present does not require a significant financial investment or advanced baking skills. Apart from a bit of patience while the cake is set in the refrigerator, you also don't need much time. This cake is made quickly, easily, and enjoyably. Doesn't that sound fantastic?

Wafer roll no-bake cake

Ingredients:

  • 200 ml milk,
  • 2 tsp type 00 flour,
  • 1 egg,
  • 200 ml 30% cream,
  • 30 g butter,
  • 60 g sugar for the cream + 30 g for the whipped cream,
  • 1 package vanilla sugar,
  • 300 g wafer rolls,
  • almond flakes for decoration.

Preparation:

  1. Crack an egg into a pot, and add the regular and vanilla sugar and the flour. Start heating gently, and after a while, pour in the milk.
  2. Next, add the butter to the pot. When the mixture thickens, could you remove it from the heat? Pour the mixture into a bowl, cover with foil, and let it cool.
  3. Whip the cream and mix it with the now-cooled contents of the pot.
  4. You can arrange the cake either in a mould or on parchment paper. Spread the parchment paper on the counter and spread some prepared cream. Place the wafer rolls on top, add more cream, and continue layering until you use all the ingredients. Sprinkle the top with almond flakes or other crushed nuts.
  5. Wrap it in parchment paper and place it in the refrigerator for 5-6 hours until ready. Enjoy.
