Investigators working to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy, which took place at the CasaSur Palermo hotel, are regularly updating on the progress of the case.
The official cause of death was confirmed by a post-mortem conducted less than 5 hours after the incident. The examination showed that the singer died as a result of "multiple traumatic injuries" and "internal and external bleeding."
Here are the circumstances of Liam Payne’s death
According to the report, the singer's body was found in the hotel’s inner courtyard shortly after he attempted to jump from a significant height into the pool. The post-mortem confirmed a skull fracture and 24 other severe injuries, which led to immediate death.
There is no indication of Liam Payne's participation in a fight. Examination of his hands showed no defensive injuries. Furthermore, due to the position in which the body was found, the report suggested that "it is presumed that Payne did not adopt a reflexive posture to protect himself and may have fallen in a state of semi or total unconsciousness."
