In less than four weeks, the first four episodes of the third season of Bridgerton have been watched by 90 million viewers worldwide. This already guarantees a place among the ten most popular American Netflix series in history, and it is comparable to the final achievement of the second season.
93.8 million viewers watched the second season of Bridgerton in the first three months. Unfortunately, after this period, the platform "freezes" the results of its productions. This is a pity because viewership can still change significantly, especially in the case of series. It is worth noting that after the premiere of the third season, the viewership of the second increased by as much as 20 million people.
Similarly, the first season's official result is 113.3 million viewers (5th place in Netflix history). Ahead of it on the all-time hit list are "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," "Stranger Things 4," "Wednesday," and "Squid Game."
The third season of "Bridgerton" confirmed the opinion that the series gained immense popularity not only due to its plot full of intrigue and romance and the surprising choice of actors but also (and perhaps primarily) thanks to bold, erotic scenes, which can even be found on adult websites.
In an interview with "Stylist" magazine, the lead actress Nicola Coughlan admitted that she herself insisted on introducing additional intimate scenes involving her because she wanted to spite those who criticised her looks.
"There’s one scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice. It just felt like the biggest ‘fuck you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering. I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how fucking hot I looked!’" said the actress.
