In recent days, intense rainfall has hit several parts of Spain, including Mallorca. The resulting flash floods have caused significant damage to homes and businesses in the local community.

The Rafael Nadal Academy in Manacor is among the many facilities that have suffered due to the unprecedented weather conditions. The outdoor and indoor courts, as well as the gym area, were flooded.

The facility shared photos of the damage on its official social media profiles. The caption stated: "Thank you very much for all the expressions of love after the huge storm we experienced. Most importantly, we are all safe and working hard to restore the academy's normal operations as soon as possible."

Thank you @emergencies112_ib, @bombersdemallorca, @rafanadal_club, and the maintenance and cleaning teams for your effort. And to everyone who helped us! was added in the statement.

According to the newspaper "The Sun", the situation poses a significant challenge for Rafael Nadal. The 37-year-old champion is preparing to return to the courts after a break due to injury. Despite the adversity, the Spaniard remains determined to continue his career and compete at the highest level again.

Spain battles catastrophe

Spanish media have reported that the destructive natural disaster has already claimed over 70 lives, a number that may still rise. Additionally, there is substantial material damage. In such circumstances, football and other sports competitions have taken a back seat.

The match between Manises and Getafe will not take place. Coach Santi Marin said it is impossible to organise the match in Torrent, a city about 10 minutes from Valencia, one of the areas most affected by the disaster.
