Dietitians often recommend millet. It's becoming fashionable and popular again because you can prepare interesting dishes with it. Moreover, it's very healthy and assists with weight loss.

What ingredients are worth focusing on when we want to lose weight? Certainly, it's protein and fibre, both of which millet contains. Fibre helps maintain the proper functioning of the digestive system, supports digestion, and provides a feeling of fullness for longer. Protein, on the other hand, accelerates metabolism.

Valuable vitamins

Millet is also rich in B vitamins, including B1, B2, B6, and folic acid, which are crucial for properly functioning the nervous system. Additionally, it is a source of vitamin E, known for its antioxidant properties, aiding in the fight against free radicals.

Collection of minerals

Millet contains extremely valuable minerals. By eating millet, you provide yourself with magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, and silicon. Silicon, which is rarely found in other grains, supports the health of skin, hair, and nails. Magnesium is essential for the proper functioning of muscles and the heart.

Nutty flavour

The first step is to rinse the millet before cooking to remove its potential bitterness. Placing the millet in a sieve and rinse it several times under cold water is best.

Next, toast the millet in a dry pan for a few minutes until it develops a slightly nutty aroma, enhancing its flavour qualities. Then comes the cooking—for one cup of millet, use two cups of water. Cook the millet over low heat for about 15 minutes until it absorbs all the water. After cooking, set it aside for a few minutes to rest under a lid and become fluffier.
