During the United Russia party congress, Dmitry Medvedev discussed his political agenda, which he termed as "development of new regions."
"This experience [of occupying four Ukrainian oblasts and Crimea – ed.] may prove useful in the future if new but very close regions appear in our country," proclaimed the deputy chairman of the Security Council, acknowledging the four Ukrainian regions annexed by the Kremlin in 2022.
Medvedev on Ukraine's Choice
Previously, Medvedev stated that Ukraine faces a choice: to ally with Russia or vanish from the world map.
In October 2022, Vladimir Putin enacted a law regarding the accession of the four annexed regions (Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson) to Russia, following pseudo-referendums orchestrated by pro-Russian authorities. Medvedev termed these regions as "Donbas" and "Novorossiya," asserting they had been part of Russia for centuries.
