The American singer was long seen as a body positivity icon. Her image took a significant hit in August 2023, when former dancers filed a lawsuit against Lizzo and her team, accusing them of, among other things, offensive behaviour, including weight-shaming.

Lizzo strongly denied all allegations, stating they are "sensationalised stories" and that her former team behaved unprofessionally. Regardless, the accusations seriously damaged her reputation. The singer followed the advice often given to celebrities during such crises to reduce her media presence for a while. She has recently returned, showcasing a new figure.

In recent months, the singer has been diligently working on her health, as evidenced by her new figure. In response to fans' speculation that she might have used popular weight-loss aids like Ozempic, she firmly denied it, explaining that her transformation is the result of hard physical work and mindful calorie control.

Lizzo has yet to debut her new figure at events, but paparazzi spotted her. Recently, she was seen in New York, dining at the popular restaurant Carbone. She wore a short black dress revealing her legs and a colourful striped jacket for the evening outing. Her hair was styled in braids.
