However, it appears that it doesn't always translate into a willingness to engage with admirers of his talent, as the hotel staff in Nadi, Fiji, reportedly discovered. A video has been uploaded to the internet that is already attracting dozens of comments.
In the video, which has been uploaded to the TikTok profile @dailymailshowbiz, we see the actor's reaction to a farewell song and dance performance by the local staff. "Reaction" is perhaps a strong word, as Leo was so engrossed in his phone that he simply ignored the performance and walked away, as recorded by one of the event's participants. Commentators are quite divided on the matter.
"He behaved [badly]," "The key to success is modesty," "Apparently, he thinks he's too important for this," "Less phone, more humility. I can't even imagine how they must have felt" - some remarked.

Page Six reached out to the actor's team, but no response was ultimately received. However, sources for the outlet claim that it was not a deliberate gesture and that the traditional farewell was organised for all hotel guests, not just for him.

We’re told the traditional dance was for all the guests — not just DiCaprio — and he wasn’t facing directly where the dancing and singing was taking place. Sources add that the "Don’t Look Up" star is known to be "very kind" - according to reports.
