Many reports by Russian media or representatives of the government are elements of propaganda. These reports are part of the informational war waged by the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Peskov addressed potential peace negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv on Saturday. "As of now, there are no preconditions for negotiations, as everyone is aware and knows Ukraine's position of rejecting any negotiations," stated the spokesman for the President of Russia, quoted by the Kremlin news agency TASS.

"Therefore, the special military operation (as the war in Ukraine is referred to in Russia - ed. note) is being continued," he added. Peskov also highlighted that Russia "never refused a peaceful resolution of disputes, always preferring this method of resolving conflicts".

London’s influence nullified the agreement

Peskov also accused London of being the exact pressure that caused the Istanbul agreements, which could have ended the war in Ukraine in 2022, not to be signed.

"Everyone knows full well that the document was indeed initialled, and everyone also knows from the words of the Ukrainian side's participant in these negotiations exactly what was the reason for the Ukrainians' refusal to continue and finalize the work on the document," he stated.

"It was direct pressure from London," added Peskov.
