In 2019, during the work on the final eighth season of "Game of Thrones", it came to light that Kit Harington went to rehab and therapy due to alcohol addiction and stress. The star was considering ending his career at the time. Only now has he revealed how serious his condition was.

In an interview with "The Sunday Times", the actor confessed how hard it was for him while working on the set.

- Things that have happened to me … of a pretty traumatic nature, and they did include alcohol. You get to a place where you feel like you are a bad person; you feel like you are a shameful person. And you feel that there’s no way out, that’s just who you are. I went through periods of real depression where I wanted to do all sorts of things. I would literally despise myself and not be proud of anything I’d done. I couldn’t be proud - he said.

Rehab and therapy got Harington back on his feet. Since completing treatment, the actor has not touched alcohol. He also learned to talk about his problems with his family. Kit's wife is Rose Leslie, whom he met on the "Game of Thrones" set. The couple has two children.
