KFC's latest venture: barbecue sauce-scented perfumes for charity

The cosmetic market seems to be a bottomless well when it comes to introducing new products. The shelves of drugstores and perfumeries are bending under the weight of novelties that a few years ago, no one could have imagined. Therefore, it's not surprising that the KFC chain is carving out its place among cosmetic products. Their latest offering might even surprise beauty connoisseurs.

Collaborations with stars, launches of new brands by celebrities, unusual formulations, and partnerships with companies from outside the industry - the cosmetic market is booming. This has led to more individuals and corporations seeking profit-making opportunities. This trend is evident in the international market, highlighted by the immense popularity of Rihanna's and Selena Gomez's cosmetic lines.

KFC introduces perfumes with an unusual scent

The fast-food giant is entering the cosmetic market. KFC, a globally recognized chain known for its fried chicken, has decided to launch its own range of perfumes. These fragrances are very specific. Perfumery enthusiasts familiar with notes of blood, dirt, or bodily secretions will now encounter the scent of barbecue sauce.

The launch of No 11 Eau de BBQ is planned for May 6, 2024, at 8:00 PM GMT. This unique fragrance will be available in restaurants across Great Britain and Ireland. Priced at just under 11 pounds for a 100 ml bottle, approximately $14, it promises to be an intriguing addition to any collection.

According to the KFC website, "We've all experienced it: the unforgettable aroma of BBQ in the air, tempting the senses and awakening a craving for that smoky taste. Imagine being able to bottle that scent. There's no need to wonder anymore: KFC is proud to announce the debut of No 11 Eau de BBQ, a limited edition perfume with hints of smoky wood and charcoal."

Income from the barbecue sauce-scented perfumes to support a noble cause

These controversial perfumes aim to do more than generate buzz for the company. All proceeds from the sales of Eau de BBQ will be donated to the KFC Foundation, which supports local communities and NGOs. The foundation focuses on helping young individuals unlock their potential for a "positive future."

KFC has been romancing the perfumery market for some time now

This isn't KFC's first foray into perfumes. At the end of 2023, the company's Spanish division launched a limited-edition perfume, Eau D’uardo, inspired by the aroma of fried chicken. Available for purchase through the KFC app, each bottle was priced at approximately £3.40, around $4.30.
