KFC spices up the menu with Squid Game-inspired meal in Spain
Not just McDonald's! After the success of the Squid Game meal offered in Japan, a competing fast food chain has also ventured to create its own meal inspired by the Netflix series. What can we enjoy at KFC?
The first season of "Squid Game" was a global hit. The second instalment of the series also achieved record viewership, accompanied by plenty of controversies. The show comprises only seven episodes and concludes with a suspenseful cliffhanger. The music from the series is trending, fans are concocting numerous conspiracy theories, and they are also speculating on which contestants will survive.
The tale of consumerism, greed, human nature, and bloody games has reached its aim and once again soared to the top. Meanwhile, the machine that the series theoretically attempts to critique has been set in motion again. You can purchase pyjamas in chain stores resembling the Squid Game contestants' tracksuits, while meals inspired by the series appear in restaurants. The first meal related to the Netflix series was introduced by McDonald's.
The set is available exclusively in Japan and includes: 10 McNuggets, large or medium fries, a drink, Korean BBQ sauce, and a Dalgona cookie with the M symbol.
KFC introduces the Squid Game set
The American giant specialising in fried chicken envied McDonald's and decided to enter the Squid Game world too. Fans of the series (and chicken) in Spain (and for now, only Spain) can savour two items related to the show:
- a bucket of spicy wings with Korean BBQ sauce (five, 10, or 12 pieces),
- a burger with an original chicken breast fillet glazed in Korean BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, a mix of cabbage, cucumber, and Red Seed Bread, a distinctive pink bun. Available as a single or double.
Both options can, of course, be ordered as a meal with a drink and fries. The appeal of the meal is further enhanced by its packaging, which echoes the aesthetics of the Netflix hit. Isn't it the perfect time for a trip to Spain?
