Katie Piper: From tragic acid attack to inspiring BAFTA elegance

In 2008, Katie Piper was attacked with acid by an ex-boyfriend and barely survived. She has undergone over 400 surgeries. Today, she inspires women and is eager to speak publicly. She recently appeared at the BAFTA Awards and looked fabulous!

Katie Piper was a promising television presenter who had achieved considerable success in the fashion industry. She was attractive, bright, and had big plans for the future. The fairy tale lasted until 2008, when her relationship ended. Her former partner couldn't cope with the rejection and decided to take revenge.

The man kidnapped Katie, then held and raped her. He didn't stop there. On 31 March 2008, the presenter was doused with acid. She barely escaped with her life. The perpetrator acted on her former partner’s orders. To be able to function normally, Piper underwent around 400 reconstructive surgeries for her burnt body and digestive system, as well as a face transplant.

Despite the traumatic experiences and great suffering, Katie decided to fight for her dreams—those related to her personal and professional life. Today, she is a happy wife and mother of two.

Katie founded her own charity and published 8 books, which are guides and motivational manuals for people struggling with various traumas and difficult transitions in life. She has also appeared in several television shows.

The former model appeared at this year's BAFTA gala and elegantly presented herself. Piper wore a black and white strap-ball gown that showed off her shoulders and cleavage. Katie’s neck was adorned with a necklace of diamonds and rubies. The star’s hair was tied in a tight bun, and the makeup featured strongly emphasized eyes and luminous, natural lips.

Although the scars from burns are still visible on Katie Piper's body and face, the former model does not intend to hide them.
