Kamikaze drone strike ignites devastating fire at Lukoil refinery in Volgograd
The kamikaze drone attack at the refinery, situated in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd, happened at around 2 a.m. Greenwich time. It resulted in an oil leak and a large fire which covered an area approximating 300 square meters.

Russian personnel managed to bring the catastrophe under control nearly three hours later. As per Russian authorities, there was no report of any injuries resulting from the incident.
Videos related to the drone strike were posted online several hours after the event.

The governor of the Volgograd region stated that the refinery fire was brought about by the shooting down of a drone by their air defense system.
Volgograd refinery
The Volgograd refinery is the second-largest of its kind owned by the Lukoil company. It was set up in 1962 and underwent substantial expansion in 2022.
