Jaguar embarks on electric journey with new logo reveal
Jaguar, the British automotive industry icon, has unveiled a revamped logo and refreshed branding. This move marks the brand's transition to exclusively producing electric cars by 2026. CNN reports that the new logo will be officially presented on 2nd December during Art Week in Miami.
The 102-year-old Jaguar, known for its luxurious and dynamic cars, has announced modernising its image. The new logo is a key element of these changes.
Gold letters come together in a harmonious whole, with the "G" and "U" distinguished by a unique combination of upper- and lower-case letters, creating a "visual harmony" while also being "unexpected." As Jaguar points out, the changes are meant to capture the spirit of modernism and prepare the brand for an electric future, reports CNN.
Jaguar's electric revolution
The logo change heralds a larger transformation—a complete transition to electric vehicle production by 2026. To prepare for this step, Jaguar is making changes to its lineup: in the UK, sales of combustion vehicles have ceased, and in the US, only one model is available.
The iconic leaping cat, which has been the Jaguar's symbol for decades, will also be replaced. The brand's new vehicles will feature a minimalist badge. A monogram with the letters "J" and "R" has been introduced, becoming one of the recognisable elements of the brand's new image.
This is a reimagining that recaptures the essence of Jaguar, returning it to the values that once made it so loved, but making it relevant for a contemporary audience – highlights Gerry McGovern, the Chief Creative Officer of Jaguar Land Rover.
The first cars with the new logo will be unveiled on 2nd December during Art Week in Miami.
