Italy tops European Travel Rating as most trusted tourist destination, says tourism minister
A report from the Italian Institute for Demoscopic Research confirmed that Italy is the undisputed leader in Europe regarding tourist reputation.

Daniela Santanche, the Italian Minister of Tourism, expressed satisfaction with these findings. She noted that being the most coveted and popular destination for travel in Europe gives them room for optimism about the future of Italian tourism.
Being the "most sought-after destination"
Nonetheless, Santanche emphasized that Italy is not satisfied with just leading in online interest. "We strive to offer not only a more tempting touristic experience but also a richer, higher quality one," she said, "We aim to be not just the most attractive online destination, but the most chosen one overall," the Minister of Tourism added.
The Institute for Demoscopic Research report also examined the reputation of individual regions within Italy. Trentino-Alto Adige secured first place as a region, proving particularly popular among tourists and those passionate about skiing, especially during winter. Sicily came in second place, and Veneto third on the reputation scale.
The Ministry of Tourism emphasizes that last year was exceptionally good for tourism in Italy. The number of tourists surpassed pre-pandemic figures from 2019, indicating a positive outlook for the future of tourism in Italy.
