The leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, is alive and "doing well" – report Reuters and AFP agencies, referring to sources close to the group. On Friday, Israel conducted an attack on Beirut, with Nasrallah as the target, according to Israeli media.
According to the media, the attack on Beirut is the largest operation of this kind during the current conflict. Lebanese Civil Defence said that the bodies of two victims were recovered from the rubble.
Meanwhile, Al-Manar television, belonging to Hezbollah, reported the death of one person and about 50 injured.
The attack caused significant destruction to an entire block of the city, and two to three residential buildings were completely or partially destroyed – Al Jazeera reported. Numerous rescue teams were directed to the site of the explosion.
AP reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cut short his visit to the U.S. and will immediately return to the country.
