The Israeli army has pulled all ground forces out of the southern Gaza Strip except for one brigade, as reported by Reuters, citing an army spokesman. According to the Times of Israel, the only unit still stationed in the area is the Nachal Brigade.

The Times of Israel detailed the troops' withdrawal, a report later confirmed by Reuters through dialogue with an Israeli army spokesperson.

This brigade is tasked with guarding the Necarim corridor, a passage cutting across the southern part of the Gaza Strip, stretching from the city of Beeri in Israel to the coastal region of the Gaza Strip. In the Israeli military, brigades typically consist of around 1,000 soldiers.

The military's press services also mentioned the troop withdrawal from this sector, albeit without offering any specifics.

The removal of these units raises questions about whether this action indicates a postponement of the long-delayed Israeli forces' entry into the city of Rafah, located near the Egyptian border, as per Reuters. This event appears to align with the initiation of another round of ceasefire talks in Cairo, set for Sunday.

It has been six months since Hamas, the Palestinian militant organization, launched an attack on Israel. The ensuing six-month war in the Gaza Strip represents the most violent phase in the ongoing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, which has spanned more than seventy years.
