Israel has no connection with the explosion in Iraq on Friday night, reported CNN on Saturday, citing a high-ranking Israeli official. The United States also denied any involvement in the attack.

Early on Friday morning, Iran activated its air defence batteries in response to reports of explosions near the city of Isfahan, according to the state news agency IRNA.

IRNA stated that the air defence systems were activated in several provinces. The semi-official news agencies Fars and Tasnim reported hearing explosions but did not specify their cause. State television confirmed that a loud noise was heard around Isfahan.

According to Iraqi security services, the explosion resulted from an air strike. It did not cause any fatalities but resulted in material damage. Meanwhile, a representative of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior stated that "one person was killed and eight were injured."

Official stance of the USA and Israel

CNN, citing information from an Israeli official, emphasized that Tel Aviv is not linked to the explosions that took place in Iraq.

The United States Central Command also issued a statement denying involvement in any attacks in Iraq. The combined joint task force that commands Operation Inherent Resolve, a multinational mission aimed at defeating the Islamic State, clarified that the US-led coalition did not conduct any attacks in Iraq.
