Three years ago, the public became aware of the issues in the marriage of Alice Evans and Ioan Gruffudd. Both are relatively well-known actors. She appeared in "The Vampire Diaries," while her husband has many supporting roles in Hollywood productions, including "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" and "San Andreas." "Sad news. My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week. Me and our young daughters girls are very confused and sad. We haven't been given a reason except that he 'no longer loves me,'' the actress wrote on Twitter in 2021, causing quite a stir.
Alice Evans accuses her ex-husband
Evans accused her husband of abuse, including psychological mistreatment. The initial posts about the breakup of her marriage with the actor suddenly disappeared from her Twitter account. It transpired that Gruffudd, who had access to his wife's social media, had deleted them himself. "Hell yes when I'm being gaslit and mentally tortured then hell yes I will wash my linen in public," she wrote then. She quickly found out that her husband had filed divorce papers in court without informing her personally beforehand.
The actress couldn't come to terms with it. On social media and in interviews, she emphasised that she doesn't understand the situation and that the children with two daughters suffer the most. Ioan Gruffudd claimed that he was the one being manipulated and abused. However, he quickly got involved with Bianca Wallace, with whom he is now often seen on red carpets. They recently posed together during the premiere of "Bad Boys: Ride or Die."
Gruffudd shouldn't complain about work and money. However, according to court documents that reached the media, the actor has not been paying maintenance since May. "While I am struggling to put food on the table for our children, Ioan is jet setting around the world," the documents state. Evans claims that the actor bought Rolex watches for himself and his fiancée and is promoting the new "Bad Boys" film while she has to use food vouchers.
In documents filed in court, the actress notes that she wants Gruffudd to pay maintenance for her and the children until a hearing to resolve their financial situation takes place. It was previously ordered that Gruffudd pay £2,400 every month, but the actress emphasises that this money didn't arrive in May or June.
