Do your feet need renewal? After the winter months spent in socks, they require special care. Regular foot care significantly impacts their appearance and our well-being, as does excessive and improper skin removal, which should be done no more than once every two weeks.
Did you know that heels should only be rubbed dry? Metal files and exfoliating socks can worsen the problem of cracked, dry, and calloused feet.
Properties of apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar, commonly used in diets to lower sugar levels and aid in weight loss, is also invaluable in skin and foot care. If you have problems with cracked, calloused, and dry skin on your heels, soaking in water with apple cider vinegar will relieve each of these ailments.
Apple cider vinegar is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which are beneficial for the skin. Its antibacterial, antifungal, exfoliating, and cleansing properties and its acidic pH help eliminate foot odour.
Soaking in water with apple cider vinegar
How do you prepare a solution with apple cider vinegar? Add a cup of apple cider vinegar to a bowl of warm water and soak your feet in the solution for up to 15 minutes. After drying your feet, gently remove the dead skin. Skin peeling is expected, so it's best to wear socks overnight and moisturise the smoothed heels with a cream containing urea in the morning.
What should you know before soaking your feet in apple cider vinegar?
Remember that vinegar should be diluted with water. Soaking in such a solution should not last longer than 15 minutes. This method is not recommended for people with diabetes or if you have foot skin damage. It is always advisable to seek specialist advice before using it.
