Healthy cocoa-coffee smoothie: The ultimate quick breakfast fix
Cocktails are not always associated with a substantial meal but rather a snack between main courses. One addition can significantly enhance the drink's value and stave off hunger for longer.

A coffee drink will stimulate action, and thanks to millet, it can also serve as an excellent quick breakfast. It is an ideal choice for those seeking a healthy and nutritious meal that is easy and fast to prepare. You can cook millet in the evening and add it to the blender with your favourite fruits, yoghurt, and milk the following day. I prefer a delicious mixture of coffee, peanut butter, and banana.
Cocoa-coffee smoothie with millet
It tastes like the best dessert, yet it is healthy and refreshing. This smoothie is a summer essential that I reach for every week. Adding cooked millet to the smoothie creates a delicious and filling breakfast that provides plenty of energy for the whole morning. Millet is rich in protein, fibre, and minerals, significantly increasing the smoothie's nutritional value.
Cinnamon, cocoa, and peanut butter enhance the smoothie's flavour. Thanks to the banana, it is also sweet. The ripeness of the banana will determine how sweet the drink will be. Optionally, you can also add some sugar. Both cow's milk and a plant-based substitute work well in this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 120 ml of cooled coffee,
- 80 ml of cooked millet,
- 120 ml of milk,
- 1 banana,
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cocoa,
- a pinch of cinnamon,
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter,
- 2 teaspoons of brown sugar (optional).
Preparation method:
- Brew coffee and let it cool.
- Cook millet according to package instructions. Cool.
- Transfer the millet, coffee, and the remaining ingredients to a tall container and blend until smooth.
- Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately.
A simple dessert and healthy snack in one is now ready. You can also chill the smoothie in the refrigerator and serve it cold—it is perfect for hot days. Enjoy!
