Healthy breakfast revamp: Cottage cheese transforms omelette
What happens when two incredibly healthy products come together in the frying pan? After such a breakfast, I'm not tempted by snacks for quite some time. I'm referring to eggs and cottage cheese, which are the main ingredients of a delicious omelette.
Omelette is a versatile dish we typically associate with breakfasts. In its classic form, it's made solely from beaten eggs and can be served either sweet or savoury. Omelettes with added flour, such as sponge omelettes, are a tad more complicated. Is it possible to prepare a lighter version of an omelette?
Ideal and Quick Breakfast
For a lighter omelette, I require only two main ingredients: eggs and cottage cheese. Even nutritionists would approve of this combination, as these products are frequently recommended to start the day. This omelette is prepared in no time at all, making it a great option for a weekday breakfast. Any vegetables pair well with it. I particularly enjoy it with rocket leaves. You can use any other extras you have in the fridge.
Add Two Healthy Ingredients to Your Omelette
In a diet-friendly omelette, just like any other, eggs are indispensable. They are an excellent source of high-quality protein that our bodies easily absorb. This means they provide long-lasting satiety and energy. They also contain essential cholesterol, as well as plenty of vitamins – D, A, E, and the B group vitamins. Additionally, they have iodine, phosphorus, calcium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Adding cottage cheese to eggs makes the meal even more nutritious. Cottage cheese is also rich in protein, easily digestible, and has a neutral taste, making it a perfect match with eggs.
