According to the most recent CNN poll, Harris is expected to triumph in states such as California, with 54 electoral votes, and New York with 28 votes. Additional states within her reach include Illinois (19 votes), New Jersey (14), Washington (12), Massachusetts (11), and Maryland (10). Potential wins also include Connecticut (7), Rhode Island (4), Hawaii (4), Vermont (3), Delaware (3), the District of Columbia, which is Washington DC (3), and Maine (3).

States showing a tendency towards the Democratic candidate include Virginia, which has 13 electoral votes, Colorado (10), Minnesota (10), New Mexico (5), Oregon (8), New Hampshire (4), and Nebraska (1).

Donald Trump is highly likely to emerge victorious in states such as Texas (40), Ohio (17), Tennessee (11), Indiana (11), Missouri (10), Alabama (9), South Carolina (9), Kentucky (8), Louisiana (8), Oklahoma (7), Arkansas (6), Iowa (6), Kansas (6), Mississippi (6), Utah (6), Idaho (4), Montana (4), West Virginia (4), Nebraska (4), Alaska (3), North Dakota (3), South Dakota (3), and Wyoming (3).

The battle for 93 electoral votes

States favouring the Republican candidate are Florida (30) and Maine (1).

The seven swing states, where polling numbers are close, are Pennsylvania (19), North Carolina (16), Georgia (16), Michigan (15), Arizona (11), Wisconsin (10), and Nevada (6).

This suggests that the candidates are competing for 93 electoral votes.

Both Maine and Nebraska permit the splitting of electoral votes. In Maine, two of the four electoral votes are awarded to the statewide winner, and one electoral vote is given to the winner in each of the two congressional districts. In Nebraska, two of the five electoral votes are assigned to the statewide winner. One electoral vote is granted to the winner in each of Nebraska’s three congressional districts.
