In the US, a fake news story has been circulating for some time, claiming that the famous basketball player Michael Jordan was going to support Donald Trump. However, the six-time NBA champion has not made such a declaration. Jordan's representatives assured the Daily Mail's editorial staff that the 61-year-old has not publicly supported any of the candidates.
On Monday, meanwhile, the fake news was also shared by the Visegrad24 account on platform X. A few minutes later, the post was deleted. However, before that happened, it managed to attract the attention of Elon Musk, who openly supports Trump in the elections. The message he saw was commented on by the billionaire with one word: "cool".
Right-wing platform spreads fake news
Visegrad24 is a popular channel on platform X. It has over 1.1 million followers.
As reported by OKO.press, Visegrad24 has several notable fake news stories to its credit. Among them are reports about Leonardo DiCaprio donating 7 million pounds for Ukraine, and the support by Polish politicians for the idea to create a Polish-Ukrainian Union.
As revealed in 2022 by Wirtualna Polska, the then Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki allocated close to 300,000 pounds for the activities of the geopolitical service of the same name, which adds additional controversy around the financing of such accounts.
